The following is a schedule of operation for Pipedream Support during the Holiday Season.
Our Office will be closing at 6 PM (EST) on Friday 12/21/2007 and we will reopen on Wednesday 12/26/2007 at 8 AM (EST)
We will have EMERGENCY Software ONLY Support available on Saturday 12/22/2007 from 9AM-5PM
We will be closing at 6 PM (EST) on Friday 12/28/2007 and we will reopen on Wednesday 1/2/2008 at 8 AM (EST)
We will have EMERGENCY Software ONLY Support available from 9AM-5PM on Saturday 12/29/2007

End of Year Procedure
These instructions are for Pipedream 3 and Pipedream 4 users.
Pipedream 5 DOES NOT require an end of year routine.
It is strongly suggested that you make a backup before running the End of Year Procedure. It is also recommended that a Salesflow report be printed, as the parts usage will be zeroed to ready the upcoming year. This procedure takes approximately 10 minutes to run.
The End Of Year Procedure is located in Module 6, End of Year Procedures
The End of Year Procedure will allow you to optionally clear:
- Year to Date Parts Usage
- Year to Date Part Bends
- Year to date Local Purchases
- PTI Totals

We recommend, “Clear to Zero” for all selections. To accept the recommended selections, press [ENTER] down the left column through all of the selections
Once all of your choices have been marked, press [F2] to perform the End of Year Procedure
You will see the following message “Ready to begin End of Year Procedure”. Press [F2] or [ENTER] at this time for the following screens:
Setting The 2008 Fiscal Calendar
Follow the instructions below to set the Meineke fiscal calendar in Pipedream 4. Note the Meineke Fiscal calendar uses the method of 4 weeks + 4 weeks + 5 weeks to calculate the calendar.
NOTE: If you are running the End Of Year Procedure, the fiscal calendar program will automatically come up after the purge routine completes. Follow steps 2-5
If you want to set the fiscal calendar WITHOUT running the EOY procedure, follow steps 1-5
Go to Module 6, Set Fiscal Calendar.
Type in the 4 digit year you are setting (2008)
The month should be set to January
The start Day Should be Tuesday
The start Date will be set to 12/30/2007 Note: If it is not set to this date, once you make all of the changes below and save it (F2), the date will adjust itself
The monthly structure should be set as follows. Note: You can only key the Start Date for Month 1. The rest of the months you will need to adjust ALL of the Ending dates. Once you typed in the month 12 ending date, Press F2 to save the changes.

Note: Even if you are setting the calendar to a Julian calendar, please make sure “Month 1” is set to Start on 12/30/2007. All of the following months will automatically be set to the end of that months date. Press “F2” to save it.
Printing Weekly Sales Reports
For a PREVIOUS Year
Follow the instructions below if you need to print or transmit a weekly sales report from a previous FISCAL year.
Go to Module 1, Sales Reports, Daily/Weekly Sales Reports
Stay on the “Daily” selection, and Press Enter, until you on “Report for Day”
Type in a date that was in the week # you need to print
Example: 12/29/2007 for Week # 53 of 2007
Now use you “UP ARROW” key until you get to the Daily or Weekly Selection
Arrow over to the “Weekly” Selection. You will now notice that the week # has changed to the week you are searching for. Press “F2” to print it once you are on the week #.
NOTE: If you only need to TRANSMIT sales figures and do not need a printed copy, change the # of copies “Zero” (0)
Follow Steps 2-5 if you have other weeks you need to Print or Re-Send other weekly sales.

MDA-Put#5
In Pipedream 5 there are 15 large icons at the top of the estimate screen. The first 8 icons are pull down menus, and the last 7 are shortcut icons from the first 8 pull down menus for quick functions. These 7 icons are customizable for you to suit your shops needs. Follow the instructions below to customize an icon. We are using “Add a Single Item” as an example.
Step 1- This function must be turned on in the shop profile. This procedure is a ONE time setup function.
- In the Pipedream 5 Folder, Open 6-Configuration
- Click on “Shop Setup” at the top of the screen
- Click on “Shop Setup & Configuration” at the top of the list to open the program
- Click on the “Sales-Module1” tab
- Click on the “User Button Setup” tab
- Click the small white box in the lower left corner to “Allow Button Selection Changes On The Fly”
- Click the “Save & Continue” Button. Then Exit the shop profile.
Step 2- Changing the Icons within the estimate screen. If you already have Sales module open, you will want to close it once you saved the change in the Shop Profile.
- Open a new “1-Sales”
- Click on the “Recall Last Estimate” button to start the estimate functions and the large icons are in color
- At the end of the row of 15 icons, you will see a small white box. Click your mouse inside of it to create a check mark. (If you hold the mouse over the box it should say “When checked Allows Button Changes”
- Note: You must check this box every time you want to change an icon
- Click on the icon you want to change. ( I am changing the Map Code icon)
- On the Estimate Toolbar Button Setup screen, click the down arrow next in the “User Button Action” box
- Select the new shortcut for this icon. I am selecting “Add Single Item”. Note: the list is in alphabetical order)
- Click the Box inside of the “Bitmap for User Button” selection
- Select the new Bitmap (icon picture) for the new icon. I am selecting “Additem.bmp”
- Click “Save & Exit” to accept the change.
You should now see that the icon has changed, and if you click on it or hold the mouse over the icon it will be the Add an Item shortcut.
To change another icon just follow steps c-j.

Day Light Savings
Time Zone Change
Windows 2000 or Greater
As you may or may not know the daylight savings for
the 2007 year has been extended by 4 weeks. In order to update you computers to
reflect this change, Microsoft has downloaded an update to Windows XP operating
systems or GREATER. In order to have received this update you must have your
Windows update program set to AUTOMATIC. If you do not have this setting you
will need to manually run the time zone program manually. We have downloaded
this program (tzedit.exe) from the Microsoft site and added it to our website
for you to download to your PC and run. Please follow the instructions below to
run this program.
- When
you download this file save it to your local C: Drive.
- Click
Start, Run, Type tzedit.exe in the Command box & click OK
- Make
sure you select the correct Time Zone for your computer
- In the
Edit Time Zone Program Check the Box to Automatically Set Daylight Saving
Time
- In the
Start Day row select Second, Leave Sunday as is, Select March. (Leave the
time set to 2:00:00am
- In the
Last Day row select First, Leave Sunday as is, Select November (Leave the
time set to 2:00:00am
- Click
OK to accept the change
- Click
Cancel when you are brought back to the Time Zone Editor Screen.

Pipedream, a brand of, INFOSynch Inc., www.infosynch.net, announces new windows based Version 5.0 of their automotive business software.
Pipedream 5 was shown at the Meineke National Conference in Orlando , Fla. February 24th and 25th.
Pipedream 5 is the continuation of a product that has been distributed internationally since 1980 and is currently used by about 600 automotive repair and servicing shops.
Pipedream 5 contains many new features aimed at increasing shop productivity and marketing capabilities.
Pipedream 5 also introduces, Pipedream College , a web based training environment available on a 24/7/365 basis.
General distribution is scheduled for April 2004.
